China Bans Export of Rare Earth-Related ‘Dual-Use’ Items to US

Chinese authorities are introducing a ban on the export to the United States of “dual-use goods” related to rare earth metals such as gallium, germanium, antimony, etc. This was stated in a statement by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

The department explained that this measure is being taken to ensure national interests and to fulfill international obligations. The ban comes into effect immediately.

It is characteristic that the above-mentioned restrictive measure against the United States was announced by the Chinese authorities the day after information appeared about the ban imposed by the American authorities on the export of semiconductors and chip manufacturing equipment to 140 companies from China, including Naura Technology Group, the largest chip manufacturer in China…
