John Kerry’s family private jet has taken over a dozen flights in 2021, records from Flight Aware have revealed.

The jet, which is tied to Biden’s point person for lowering greenhouse gas emissions, has already completed 16 flights since January this year.

The news of the flights has now raised concerns about how much the Kerry family contributed to the problem.

A lot of the flights occurred within Massachusetts, which includes Martha’s Vineyard and Boston International Airport.

Two of those flights took place between Massachusetts and New Jersey.

A Kerry spokesperson said:

“Secretary Kerry travels commercially or via military air in his role as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.”

Neon Nettle reported in February that Kerry flew to Iceland on a private jet to receive the Arctic Circle award for climate leadership.

Biden’s climate czar defended his choice of travel, calling it “the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle.”

Kerry also faced backlash from Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, who led the Arctic Circle Roundtable, for using his private jet.

Icelandic reporter JĂłhann Bjarni Kolbeinsson then confronted him for using his private jet.

“I understand that you came here with a private jet,” Kolbeinsson said.

“Is that an environmental way to travel?”

Kerry responded:

“If you offset your carbon — it’s the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle.”

“I negotiated the Paris Accords for the United States,” he added.

“Is working to win the battle on climate change, and in the end, if I offset and contribute my life to do this, I’m not going to be put on the defensive.”

Since then, Kerry has remained relatively quiet about his hypocritical habits.

When Kerry appeared before Congress in May, he told a House committee that he needed to leave at a certain point as he was flying commercial.

Private jets are known to emit 40 times as much carbon per passenger as commercial flights.

Although Kerry claims he offsets his emissions, he has never explained how or given any evidence.

According to flight logs, Kerry’s family spent over 20 hours in the air from February of last year to January, which is an estimated 116 metric tons of carbon emissions.

To put that into perspective, an Environmental Protection Agency report estimated that the typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, which is assumed to drive around 11,500 miles per year with a fuel economy of about 22.0 miles per gallon.
