CNN Senior Political Analyst Nia-Malika Henderson questioned on Wednesday whether anyone would care about Democrats winning the House of Representatives in 2026, saying President Donald Trump would have already “dismantled” multiple federal agencies by then.
Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York has come under fire from left-wing media figures and Democrats in Congress over his decision to break a filibuster of the GOP-backed spending bill, with Democratic Rep. Glenn Ivey of Maryland calling for Schumer’s replacement as leader of Senate Democrats Tuesday. Henderson questioned how Democrats could even “win” a fight with Trump.
“I mean, that’s the thing. How do you fight Donald Trump and win? How do you put a roadblock up to what he’s doing? Is waiting really the right strategy, right?” Henderson asked “Inside Politics” guest host Manu Raju. “And you — you hit on this, I think, on one of your shows. You look at the Democratic brand, right? It’s taken such a hit. If you look at the numbers, what is it, like 29 percent or something have a favorable view of the party. And — and that is damaging.”
