Commercial Airplanes Collide On Airport Tarmac

Two Delta Air Lines flights faced delays Saturday at Salt Lake City International Airport after the jets “made contact” on the tarmac.

“A Boeing 737 struck a Airbus 320 as it was parked at the terminal,” KSL TV noted.

“Delta teams worked to re-accommodate customers to their final destinations after the wingtip of Delta flight DL2046 made contact with a parked aircraft at SLC. We sincerely apologize for the delay to their travels,” Delta said in a statement to KSL TV.

“Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-900 (N853DN) and Airbus A320 (N361NW) received minor damage in a ground collision at Salt Lake City-Intl AP(KSLC), UT. Both acft were in the holding area of runway 16L,” global aviation safety news account JACDEC wrote.
