Concern Kalashnikov has developed an optical navigation system for UAVs that provides navigation without satellites

The Kalashnikov Concern has developed its own on-board optical navigation system (BONS) for drones. The system will be tested in the SVO zone in the near future.

The concern’s specialists have developed a new optical navigation system capable of ensuring the flight of a drone without the use of global navigation satellite systems. BONS is installed in the UAV together with the onboard inertial navigation system, being an additional sensor for its correction. As explained by the concern, the system helps the UAV navigate in conditions of the absence of satellite navigation signals.
