On occasion, I get asked by people why I still live in the state of Michigan, and depending on my mood, my answer will vary.
However, the bare bones fact of the matter answer is that I do love this state and all four of its seasons, which it never fails to deliver on. Also, the politics here are more than enough to keep one busy, particularly in my line of work, and that is enough for me.
Reading Charlie LeDuff is one of the reasons why I’m glad that I’m a Michiganian, and knowing that he is still coming up with angles with stories that are both informative and amusing is a bonus.
Possibly you’ll recall that I wrote about U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) and his getting hit by his democratic colleague Representative Rasheeda Tlaib last week, even though he had recently filed impeachment papers against President Trump.

Now it seems that Democrat Representative Rasheeda Tlaib, who resides in the once great state of Michigan, has taken up Hogg’s call to endorse and support a Democrat running against a sitting Democrat. The very Democrat who is in the district next to hers and also filed paperwork to impeach Donald Trump just a couple of weeks back, the one and only Rep. Shri Thanedar.
Detroit U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib is endorsing a state lawmaker who is trying to unseat , a fellow Democrat who represents the district next door to hers in Congress.Tlaib on Monday said she is backing state Rep. Donavan McKinney’s bid for Congress in Michigan’s 13th District and also took a dig at the two-term Thanedar, saying his constituents deserve better representation. “Centering community not only means standing up to corporate donors and lobbyists, but also means fighting to address community needs through robust community services and responsive representation. This type of leadership is missing for residents in the 13th, and I know Donavan will bring it — I’ve already seen him do so as State Representative,” Tlaib said in a statement.“I’m proud to have Donavan’s back because I know he’ll always have Michiganders’ backs — and because I know when it comes to real representation, Michigan’s 13th district deserves better.”You would think that Shri would be a hero, but instead, he gets the backhand from his congressional neighbor.
Now this is where Charlie LeDuff comes in.
He not only has a podcast called the “No BS NewsHour,” but he is a writer and does on-the-spot interviews where the subjects he is talking to are not prepared for. Of course, the subject of the interview gets caught up and stumbles because they don’t know what they’re doing most of the time, even though they’re supposed to be educated on the issues that they talk about…
