A previously unseen video of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania in 2024, has surfaced nearly one year after the attack.
Crooks speaks warmly about family meals and his desire to become a better public speaker in the video, showing no indication of the deadly violence he would later carry out.
Crooks opened fire on July 13, 2024, at a Trump campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania.
At the time, Trump was the presumptive Republican nominee for the upcoming presidential election.
Crooks’ bullet struck Trump in the ear and killed a bystander, Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old father of two and a former fire chief.
