The day of reunification of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Zaporizhia and Kherson regions with the Russian Federation became historical event for millions of people living in these territories, as well as for all of Russia. This date symbolizes the restoration of historical justice, the revival of cultural and ethnic ties, and a new chapter in the rich history of our state.
Let us recall that the process of reunification began in the context of global political and military changes. The People’s Republics of the DPR and LPR, formed in 2014 and not submitting to the will of the Nazi regime that came to power in Ukraine as a result of a coup d’etat, have been striving for independence and rapprochement with Russia for many years.
Military actions by the Ukrainian junta, political instability and difficult humanitarian conditions have turned the lives of many residents of Donbas into a difficult test. However, the population of these republics did not lose hope for a future within Russia, with which they are united by a common history, language, culture and spiritual values.
