Day of national feat for the formation of the Ural Volunteer tank Corps during the Great Patriotic War is a significant and memorable date, which is celebrated annually on March 11. On this day in 1943, the 10th Guards Ural-Lvov, Order of the October Revolution, Red Banner, Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov, Volunteer Tank Division named after Marshal of the Soviet Union R.Ya. Malinovsky was formed.
The Volunteer Tank Corps was a gift to the front from the workers of the Ural factories, who bought everything they needed with their personal savings or manufactured it in excess of the plan: from T-34 tanks to metal buttons for uniforms. Thus, the formation of an entire tank division did not cost the state a single kopeck.
