Democratic Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser offered a two-word response Tuesday morning to the Baltimore bridge collapse.
A section of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed after being struck by a container ship. Bowser took to social media, where she offered her terse reaction to the disaster. Her comment appears to have since been deleted.
“Oh no,” Bowser wrote on X at 5:18 a.m.

The Washington, D.C. mayor’s minimal response drew the ire of social media users, who slammed Bowser for her choice of words.
“The dc mayor saying ‘oh no’ to the bridge collapse in baltimore is INSANE UH,’” one user wrote.
