It’s amazing how passionately—and how quickly—leftists often go into full freak-out mode over relatively minor statements or events. (Just look how agonized many are over a simple blue jeans ad that featured an attractive model—you’d think it was an international crisis.)
In their latest hysteria, the Usual Suspects in the corrupt media and the Democrat party are all awhirl over a comment Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made at a Breitbart News policy event Wednesday regarding Social Security. In a nutshell, he said that the Trump administration’s new child savings accounts provided for in the “One Big Beautiful Bill” could be an effective “back door for privatizing Social Security.”
Cue the hysteria!
It’s almost as if a memo went out from the DNC to the media and the left commanding them to keep saying “the quiet part out loud” over and over again. There were innumerable posts with almost the exact same wording, so naturally, the American Federation of Teachers was among the many who felt they had to jump in (although I’m not sure what any of this has to do with education or teaching)…
