You are presumably aware that there have been many illegal immigrants arriving during the Obama and Biden administrations, yet Democrats oppose any attempt to prevent these people (who already broke the law) from voting. Recently Connecticut Secretary of State (CTSoS) Stephanie Thomas effectively called Republicans Nazis over attempts to require proof of citizenship to register to vote.
Here are some things you might not have known.
First, the impact of the illegal immigration is significant even if none of the illegal aliens attempts to vote. Because of illegal immigration, the House of Representatives which would have been controlled by Republicans since 2020 was Democrat in 2020 and is closely contested now. This is because the Census counts all residents and House seats are apportioned based on the total. Given 2024 estimates of illegal immigrants which confirm prior estimates by Yale and MIT researchers, and which exclude the illegal immigration surge of the Biden years, illegal immigration, added four house seats to California and one each to New York, New Jersey and Illinois. Absent the illegal immigration, those seats would have gone to Republican states, swinging the House of Representatives to Republicans by seven seats!
This is because most illegals can be found in California, and states with sanctuary policies. Democrats have been working on this for years and this paid off with the 2020 census.
When it comes to voting, one study estimated that as many as 15% of the 22 million illegal immigrants vote. Yet it’s no surprise that Democrats like CT SoS Stephanie Thomas claim voting by illegals is rare. This is mainly because they’ve never tried identify non-citizen voters, and obstruct and challenge any attempts to do so. Yet where anyone looked carefully, like in North Carolina, they found 747,000 invalid registration in one year alone…
