SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A brush fire that broke out near McDowell Mountain Regional Park in northern Scottsdale has forced residents to evacuate, and hundreds of firefighters have been called to respond.
The Diamond Fire is near 128th Street and Ranch Gate Road – close to a community with dozens of homes.
Fire officials said 1,145 residents living in the area will remain evacuated until it’s determined that the containment line will hold up in expected windy conditions.
The cause hasn’t been determined. No injuries have been reported.
Forestry officials on Wednesday said one secondary structure was destroyed in the fire.
