Divide Grows Amid Catholic Groups Over Aid to Illegal Aliens

Catholic organization questioning another Catholic organization’s involvement with moving COVID-sick immigrants into the U.S. filed a lawsuit earlier this month in Texas federal court.

CatholicVote and conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch filed the federal lawsuit based on two denied Freedom of Information Act requests made to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

In the lawsuit, filed on February 4, the Indiana-based Catholic organization requests “all communication” between the two federal agencies and several Catholic organizations near the Texas border including Catholic Charities, The Catholic Diocese of Brownsville, Bishop Daniel Forest, the Catholic-run Humanitarian Respite Center in McAllen, and its Executive Director Sister Norma Pimental…
