Diseases including syphilis and tuberculosis carried across the border by illegal immigrants threaten New York City and the wider United States, doctors warn, including deadly drug-resistant strains.
âWhen they are bussed to New York and elsewhere, these diseases go with them,â writes Dr. Marc Siegel, a professor of medicine at New York University.
One physician working at the Texas border told Dr. Siegel that migrants were increasing the prevalence of tuberculosis resistant to antibiotics â a.k.a. âSuper TBâ â while other medics warned of migrants potentially causing a measles epidemic.

Probably true. And a good chance to promote childhood vaccinations. But, sadly after the Covid fiasco, have to wonder if the vaccines given today are of the potency that were given to children even 10 years ago. Know I’ve been close to 80 years without worrying and my children the same. Sad to have to question the CDC and Drug manufacturers to say the least. They have a lot of trust to gain back for me to fully have confidence.
