The eldest son of former President Donald Trump revealed the emotional impact on his children after a second failed assassination attempt.
Donald Trump Jr. took to social media to express what’s “getting old” about the attacks on his father, noting the difficulty in speaking with his five children about the second attempt on the GOP nominee’s life in as many months.
“You know what’s getting really old? Having to have conversations with my 5 young children about radical leftist trying to kill their grandfather,” Trump Jr. wrote on X Monday morning.
“No person should ever have to do this in America or anywhere else and yet I had to have that conversation five times again yesterday,” he said, referring to the failed attempt as the former president played golf in West Palm Beach, Florida.

His remarks came hours after a suspect identified as Ryan Routh was apprehended after allegedly fleeing the scene where he reportedly attempted to target Trump. Routh appeared in federal court on Monday and is “being held on charges of possession of a firearm while a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number,” according to USA Today.
Secret Service agents who saw the suspect’s gun protruding from bushes surrounding the golf course, opened fire as the gunman fled in an SUV, “leaving behind a loaded, SKS-style assault rifle, a backpack, two bags, a digital camera, and some food, according to the criminal complaint,” the outlet noted.
Trump Jr.’s post sparked a response from X owner Elon Musk who wrote, “The incitement to hatred and violence against President Trump by the media and leading Democrats needs to stop.”
Musk’s comment came after a Sunday post he shared generated heated backlash when he said “No one is even trying to assassinate” VP Kamala Harris or President Biden, adding a thinking-face emoji. He ended up having to delete the post…
