‘Douchebags’: Waitress who split life-changing $10K tip with co-workers fired for ‘unknown’ reason

A Michigan waitress received a life-changing $10,000 tip from an anonymous patron last week and chose to share it with seven of her co-workers.

Earlier this week, she was fired for reasons unknown.

Linsey Boyd was shocked when she discovered the tip on a $32 lunch from a man who was reportedly in town for a late friend’s memorial service.

“I just gave him a hug,” Boyd told WSBT-TV. “I didn’t even know his name at that point, but I gave him a hug.”

“He told me that he had left the memorial of someone very dear to him, and he just wanted to do something really kind and generous in her name,” she explained.
