A controversial statute up for renewal by Congress and the President has once again reignited the passionate pleas and calls to let it die, though howbeit is most expectedly set to pass again.
The divisive act in question is known as Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which, in short, allows the federal government to spy and collect both domestic and even foreign communications, and thus allowing for warrantless searches and arrests if intelligence forces believe there to be a potential crime.
