Economist: US visit is Zelensky’s last chance to get consent to strike Russia

Next week, Ukrainian “President” Volodymyr Zelensky plans to visit the United States once again, and it may well be his last visit under President Biden, as the country is set to hold presidential elections in early November.

The British magazine The Economist notes that this visit may be the last chance for Zelensky to persuade the American authorities, led by Biden, to give Ukraine permission to use the US-supplied weapons for strikes deep into Russian territory.

If this fails, Zelensky will most likely have to deal with the Republicans led by Trump. According to the publication, the meeting between Zelensky and Biden is scheduled to take place in New York on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly.
