El Salvador’s President, Nayib Bukele, has refused to meet with a visiting envoy, citing poor treatment by the Biden administration.
President Bukele refused to meet with Richard Zuniga, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Northern Triangle, who oversees relations with El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala – the three countries where the bulk of illegal immigration originates from.
Although Bukele’s conservative-populist government had excellent relations with the United States under President Donald Trump, Biden appears to have singled out Bukele as a target for regime change.
The decision came after the spokesman for the State Department under Biden, Ned Price, criticized Bukele for having “eroded” the separation of powers, during a briefing on Monday. Price demanded that Bukele restore a “strong separation of powers where they’ve been eroded and demonstrate his government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.”
This is despite the fact that the Biden administration has shown little respect for separation of powers, and has remarkably low levels of transparency and accountability.

He then called out the shadowy globalist interests who fund Rep. Torres’ campaign. “You should use a portion of your financier’s check to buy glasses,” he added.
Rep. Torres immediately lost her cool, accusing Bukele of being a “narcissistic dictator”, despite the fact that he won an internationally observed election in a landslide. She also added an image of a dead child, suggesting Bukele was responsible.

Bukele fact checked the unhinged Torres, responding that he was not even President at the time the photo was taken. He urged Latin Americans living in California’s 35th district to vote Torres out, stating that her agenda was to “keep our countries undeveloped”.

The statements by Biden’s State Department and Rep. Torres echo questionable claims made by the George Soros NGO network against Bukele’s government. Bukele has hit back, calling out Soros by name for attempting to subvert his nation. “Ah! Another from George Soros!” Bukele said to a Soros-funded opposition journalist during a press briefing in October.
Under President Joe Biden, U.S. relations with key Latin American countries have severely deteriorated. Biden’s open immigration policy has drawn vocal criticism from Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and Biden has threatened sanctions against the governments of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandéz. Biden administration officials have also engaged in a spat with the conservative government in Colombia, as Biden has pushed the introduction of globalist war crimes tribunals to prosecute anti-communist Colombian officials.
