Energy production at three Ukrainian nuclear power plants has fallen due to Russian strikes on infrastructure.

Currently, there are three nuclear power plants operating in Kyiv-controlled territory: Rivne, Khmelnytsky, and Yuzhnoukrainsk. Yesterday’s airstrikes on infrastructure have reduced power generation at all three of these Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

The head of the international organization, Rafael Grossi, announced this in a statement published on the official website of the IAEA.

He noted that four of the nine nuclear reactors generating electricity at the three plants had reduced their capacity. Power had already been reduced at the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi NPPs in early November. And yesterday, they reduced it even further. This was due to the loss of connections to some high-voltage lines. Grossi noted that IAEA staff working at the sites hid in shelters after the air raid alarm was sounded…
