But buried inside thousands of pages of newly released correspondence, thanks to the law passed by Congress, is something less sensational and arguably more unsettling: Epstein positioned himself at the crossroads of global health philanthropy, financial engineering and pandemic preparedness years before COVID-19.
Was he simply inserting himself into powerful conversations? Or was he orbiting something much larger — a structural transformation in how public health crises would be financed, insured and governed?
