EXCLUSIVE: Michigan Sec. of State Benson Allows Vendor ‘Election Source’ to ‘Remove Batteries’ from Voting Machines – Possibly Illegal and Renders Machines Uncertified

by Joe Hoft

Allowing Vendor ‘Election Source’ to remove ‘batteries’ because ‘they aren’t needed’ will render the voting machines inoperable due to no longer being certified while also creating ‘chain of custody’ violations.

We reported on this last night.

BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Michigan Attorneys Issue Cease and Desist Letter to Vendor ‘Election Source’ To Prevent Them from Removing Data from Election Machines on the 15th

It’s possible that the Election Source’s cause for “preventative maintenance” is nothing more than a plausible excuse to wipe the memory of the ICX machines (not with a cloth, but with the same result as the reference).  The nonsensical basis detailed in the letter of removing the batteries from the Android tablets “because they aren’t needed” is laughable and ludicrous.  Because they aren’t needed isn’t cause to do anything, much less mount an immediate, one-day, statewide effort.  Considering the lack of cause the objective becomes clear and that is a hard-reset that will erase all memory and reset to factory specs.  There IS cause for clerks not to allow the “scheduled maintenance” of their systems which Ms. Lambert and Matt DePerno could send Notice to the clerks, the SOS, and also send judicial notice to the court of the following:

REMOVAL OF THE BATTERIES FROM THE ICX ANDROID TABLETS WILL ALTER THE HARDWARE CONFIGURATION AS TESTED AND CERTIFIED BY THE EAC RENDERING THE DEVICES UNCERTIFIED.

The EAC certification of the Dominion Democracy Suite 5.5C specifically lists the Android tablets as ***UNALTERED*** Consumer Off  The Shelf (COTS) hardware as tested and certified.  Specifically, this means that it came with a battery and was tested and certified with a battery.  Therefore removal of the battery would be inarguably altering the hardware to an untested and therefore decertified state.

From the Democracy Suite 5.5C EAC Certified Hardware Configuration:

Note above that the ICX Tablets are all listed as “COTS” as opposed to the example below of COTS hardware that has been modified and is listed as “Modified COTS”:

Below is the Scope of Certification that limits the certification to only the specified hardware in the state as tested.  This first item is from the Democracy Suite 5.5C EAC certification scope:

From the EAC Certification Certificate:

Providing the voting equipment to Election Source as directed by the letter would violate the chain of custody.  Because Election Source is (as defined by the State of Arizona, Maricopa County BoS, and CISA) an “uncertified” third party, any affected voting equipment would be untestable and therefore uncertified for future elections.  According to the recent direction and precedent of the EAC and CISA, affected equipment would have to be replaced.

Oh, and by the way, this may all be illegal if election data from the 2020 Election is destroyed during the removal of batteries.
