Government doctor Anthony Fauci relented in a campaign against popular holidays during a Sunday Meet the Press appearance, announcing that he’d permit children to engage in Halloween trick-or-treating. Fauci had denied permission for children to engage in the practice last year, pointing to the Chinese coronavirus and claiming going door-to-door would represent a high-risk activity.
“You can get out there – you’re outdoors for the most part, at least, when my children were out there doing trick-or-treating – and enjoy it,” Fauci said. “I mean, this is a time that children love. It’s a very important part of the year for children. I know my children enjoy it.”
Fauci did command Americans who aren’t vaccinated to “think again” about trick-or-treating, although he didn’t try to expressly forbid them from celebrating the holiday like a normal human would.
