White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci‘s book apparently was removed from Amazon and Barnes & Noble amid criticism over his emails and accusations that he is profiting off the pandemic.
His book, “Expect the Unexpected,” is expected to release in November. As of Wednesday morning, both the listings for Amazon and Barnes & Noble appear to be removed.
The listing describes the book as providing “[Fauci’s] unique perspective on leadership, expecting the unexpected, and finding joy in difficult times.”
“With more than three decades spent combating some of the most dangerous diseases to strike humankind – AIDS, Ebola, COVID-19–Dr. Fauci has worked in daunting professional conditions and shouldered great responsibility,” continued the description of the book. “The earnest reflections in these pages offer a universal message on how to lead in times of crisis and find resilience in the face of disappointments and obstacles.”
The description also stated that readers can expect “inspiring words of wisdom … centered around life lessons compiled from hours of interviews, offering a concrete path to a bright and hopeful future.”
The removal of the listings comes after 800 pages of emails sent by Fauci were released to the public, which shows Fauci downplaying the effectiveness of masks and that the virus “(potentially) looks engineered.”
“Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection,” said Fauci in the emails.
“The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keep out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you,” continued Fauci.
Fauci also received heavy criticism accusing him of profiting off the pandemic with the release of his book.
“If you look at the numbers again, you had Cuomo profiting off a pandemic, a government official,” said Joe Comcha, a Fox News contributor. “Now we have Fauci doing it as well. I think this is appalling.”
