Federal Court shoots down California ban on high-capacity magazines – could have nationwide implications

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – In what has to be seen as a victory to everyone who supports the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, the Ninth Circuit Court of appeals struck down California’s law that bans “high-capacity” magazines.

That’s because the restrictions violate the very 2nd Amendment that California lawmakers were seeking to tear down.

The court noted that the state’s ban, if upheld, would criminalize half the magazines in the US, as the definition provided by the state is a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds.

California legislators passed numerous laws over the past few years in what they said was an attempt to reduce gun violence. One of those laws was the very one that the 3-judge panel overturned.

Let us go on the record as saying, we are all for reducing gun violence. But those efforts must not violate the 2nd Amendment.

As reported by Fox News, the 9th Circuit agrees.
