Flour Company King Arthur Bans All White People From Baking Contest

Last month the popular flour and baking good company King Arthur Baking announced they partnered with a group called Project Potluck, that will host a baking competition that is exclusive to “people of color” and bans Whites.

Though the contest is over, first reported by The Washington Examiner last month, the contest the winners received ‘mentorship to help them grow their businesses and baking skills along with a grand prize of $10,000.’

But, in order to enter, The WE noted applicants needed ‘to reach a number of eligibility requirements, including having a business or bakery led by a person of color and being a community member of Project Potluck, among other requirements.’

On Project Potluck’s website the group says, “We’re empowering People of Color to build successful companies and careers in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry (CPG).”

The products we eat, drink and use on our bodies should reflect the diversity of consumers. But CPG founders, leaders and professionals are overwhelmingly white…
