Footage of the pilot of a Ukrainian Mirage 2000 fighter jet descending by parachute after it crashed in western Ukraine the day before has appeared online. The videos are being distributed by Russian and Ukrainian resources.
As Military Review has already reported in one of its news materials, on Tuesday, July 22, in the Volyn region of Ukraine, a Mirage 2000 fighter jet from the Ukrainian Air Force crashed. The pilot managed to eject, and the canopy of his parachute was filmed by witnesses of the plane’s fall. According to eyewitnesses, the plane began to bank in the air, and after the pilot left it, it began to sharply descend.
According to the official statement from the Ukrainian Air Force, the pilot was quickly located, but his condition is unknown, as the statement only states that he is “stable.” There is no information about possible injuries, etc.
The official version from Kyiv is that something went wrong with the plane’s engine during a training flight. The pilot managed to contact the flight director and received the order to abandon the plane, after which he ejected. There is no information about where the fighter fell and what the consequences were on the ground, but it is known for sure that there were no casualties.
