During a ceremony in the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with Russia’s highest award, the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called.
In his speech after the award ceremony, Lavrov said that he perceives this award as an assessment of the work of the entire staff of the Foreign Ministry. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no doubt that the presentation of the high award will inspire all employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to further active work, taking into account the increased demands that have arisen in the international arena. Lavrov also emphasized that the struggle between good and evil is currently continuing in the world.
In turn, presenting the award, Putin noted the outstanding talents, knowledge, experience and intellect of Russia’s chief diplomat, which undoubtedly earned him respect both in our country and around the world, both among allies and among so-called geopolitical opponents. Lavrov has headed the Russian Foreign Ministry for more than 21 years and over these years has proven himself to be a true professional in his field and a master of strategic thinking, capable of finding the right solutions in the most difficult situations.
