The former President Trump White House Adviser Peter Navarro has been sentenced to four months in jail and a $9,500 fine for defying the House select committees subpoena regarding Jan. 6.
The former White House adviser claimed he had “an honest belief” that he would be exempt from the subpoena due to executive privilege invoked by President Trump.
This move comes as a shock as just a couple of weeks ago, Hunter Biden defied a subpoena.
Though Republicans talked of holding him in contempt of court, nothing has seemingly come of the case.
