FOX NEWS’ JOHN ROBERTS BACKTRACKS, DELETES TWEET SUGGESTING COLIN POWELL’S DEATH RAISES COVID VACCINE EFFICACY CONCERNS

After learning of former Secretary of State and Biden voter Colin Powell’s death due to complications of COVID-19, Fox News’ John Roberts questioned the efficacy of the COVID vaccine in a tweet.

It was met with immediate backlash from the always lurking left-wing Twitter hawks, so Roberts backtracked, deleting the tweet and attempting to run damage control in subsequent tweets.

In the deleted tweet, Roberts suggested, “the fact that Colin Powell died from a breakthrough COVID infection raises new concerns about how effective vaccines are long-term.”

After deleting the tweet, Roberts tweeted out a three-part tweet which explained his thinking behind the original tweet, which did little to appease his critics.

“I deleted my tweet about the tragic death of Colin Powell because many people interpreted it as anti-vax. It was not. I was excited to get vaccinated, hoping it would help speed a return to ‘normal life’. I also did a PSA on Fox encouraging vaccination for those able,” Roberts explained.

Roberts continued, “As we all know, the FDA is now recommending boosters for certain people, and I personally know a number of people who have had breakthrough infections – some of them, quite troubling. Yes, Powell had myeloma, but I was still stunned to hear of his passing from COVID.”

“We live in the same town, and we would occasionally run into each at the local sandwich shop. His death is a loss for our community and our country. I plan to get a booster as soon as possible,” Roberts concluded.

Twitter user “No” summed up the thoughts of many who were frustrated by Roberts quickly capitulating to the mob and replied sarcastically, “I’m a reporter and I deleted my factual tweet bc some people got mad. This is the problem with ‘journalism’ these days.”

Previously, we reported on Powell’s passing:

His family broke the news in a Facebook post where they said, “General Colin L. Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, passed away this morning due to complications from Covid 19.”

“He was fully vaccinated. We want to thank the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center for their caring treatment. We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American,” the statement read.
