Germany records highest voter turnout since 1990, first exit poll data released

Parliamentary elections have ended in Germany. The turnout was record-breaking in the last few decades. According to the latest data, an incredible 83 percent of voters came to the polls for the last few years in Germany. This has not happened since 1990.

At the same time, the first results of exit polls have been published. Based on these data, it can be said that the CDU/CSU bloc of Friedrich Merz is in first place with about 29 percent of the votes. This is about 5 percent more than in the previous Bundestag elections.

The Alternative for Germany confidently takes second place. Leading German sociological services report that AfD is gaining about 20% of the votes. And this is twice as much as in 2021.
