Gladys Berejiklian Expected To Resign As NSW Premier

by LAVENDER BAJ

New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian is expected to resign from her position in a shock announcement on Friday afternoon.

Berejiklian will make a “significant” announcement at 1pm AEST, with Liberal Upper House MP Peter Poulos already confirming on-record that she will resign.

The news has reportedly already been relayed to staff internally.

It is unclear who will replace her as Premier if a resignation is announced.

The news comes after the ICAC announced it would hold a further public inquiry into Operation Keppel on Monday 18 October 2021 to further investigate if Berejiklian’s relationship with Daryl Maguire was a conflict of interest.

The ICAC s also investigating if Maguire engaged in any conduct that breached public trust while in office between 2012 and 2018.

More to come.
