Rapper-turned-country-singer Jelly Roll is using his faith to call Christians to action.
During his acceptance speech at the Dove Awards, a ceremony that honors gospel music singers, the artist used his moment in the spotlight to send a message to all of his fellow Christians. He cited the rise in discourse around religious figures like Jesus Christ and encouraged believers to “show ’em Jesus.”

“Y’all forgive me, one, I’m not sure how much I even belong speaking up here right now… and I’m nervous, I ain’t been this nervous since I went to criminal court, y’all. This is a real thing for me… I was listening to him and I was thinking about Matthew when he talks about ‘the least.’ When he said ‘when I was hungry, you fed me.
