On December 6th, Google finally realized their artificial intelligence program, to rival OpenAI’s and Microsoft’s AI’s models, boasting to be the “largest and most capable AI model,” and and most accessible one thus far.
In a blog post published on Google’s website, Gemini can run on everything from a large-scale data center to a smartphone, the first to ever do so, Google says.
Gemini is currently offered on Google’s Pixel 8 Pro phone. Google packages Gemini in three different setups: “Gemini Ultra — our largest and most capable model for highly complex tasks; Gemini Pro — our best model for scaling across a wide range of tasks; Gemini Nano — our most efficient model for on-device tasks.”
Gemini will also be interwoven with Google’s AI chatbot Bard, and Gemini will become a part of Google’s suite of services including Docs, Gmail, and YouTube. Google’s search engine will incorporate Gemini by the end of this year.
