A transwoman who used a disabled toilet to dilate his ‘vagina’ after gender reassignment surgery has defended the decision.
Heather Herbert was criticised by disabled-rights campaigners after publishing a picture of the exercise at Gatwick Airport.
The former Labour parliamentary candidate for Scotland was returning from London after the surgery he referred to as “V Day”.
The picture was posted on X with the caption: “Dilation, day two, let’s play. Where in an airport can I locate a clean, dry, private place I can lie down, take my knickers off and spread my legs?
“Found a disabled toilet… not the most fun I’ve had.”
Henrietta Freeman, a disabled-rights activist replied: “Not angered by much but this made me fume.
“A disabled person wonât be able to catheterise, empty their stoma bag, deal with bowel accidents, a parent canât change their child.
“This selfish entitled man doesnât have to deal with this. Robbing disabled people of their dignity is a choice by him. Disability isnât.”
Herbert defended the use of a disabled cubicle, claiming the airport’s adult changing places were airside beyond passport control: “I needed a place to dilate it was a medical necessity, the airport security pointed me to the disabled loo…
