‘I Have Not Been Very Focused On That’

Earlier today I wrote about a photo that seemed to be the perfect metaphor for the Biden administration.

In it, Kamala Harris was cosplaying a leader coordinating help for the hurricane relief needed after Helene struck the southern states like an atomic bomb. She pretended to be talking to the FEMA leader, but her phone was unplugged and the paper on which she pretended to take notes was blank.

Well, if you need further evidence that the lights are on but nobody is home, take a gander at this shocking video of Secretary of Commerce Gena Raimondo admitting that she isn’t focused on the most important threat to our economy at the moment, the longshoreman’s strike that may begin at midnight.

Every port on the East and Gulf coasts is likely to close, costing billions of dollars a day, disrupting supply chains, and almost certainly making inflation worse for everybody.

“I have not been very focused on that.” Geez, has she been vacationing at the beach with President Biden? Is anybody doing anything at the federal level?
