ICE Arrests Guatemalan Illegal on Loose for Months After Being Charged With Child Rape

An illegal alien who was charged with raping a child in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts and then released has been captured by federal immigration authorities after months on the loose.

On Friday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the recent apprehension of Selvin Alex Galvez-Mejia, a Guatemalan citizen who illegally entered the U.S. as an ‘unknown gotaway’ at an unknown location or date.

On July 18, Galvez-Mejia was arraigned in Springfield District Court on two counts aggravated rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a victim 14 years of age or older.

Galvez-Mejia was subsequently released on bond and remained on the loose in Massachusetts for around three months.
