If our buddy was head over heels for a girl and he gave up after she told him ‘no’ one time, we’d never let him hear the end of it.
So what makes giving up after an unanswered prayer any different? If Jesus said ask and KEEP asking, knock and KEEP knocking? Why are we so quick to give up if we don’t see immediate results?
No wonder Jesus was so excited when he found someone who was willing to look past the initial ‘no’ to the Good and Faithful character of the God in whom she put her trust.
