A MORE PERFECT MOMENT DOESN’T EXIST
Before a homegrown Muslim jihadist threw a homemade bomb over his head with perfect timing, Walter Masterson was better known as a comedian who did mostly forgettable satirical man-on-the-street videos.
The targets of these videos were more often than not people coded right wing. He “trolled” (See: Interrupted by shouting lame jokes) Moms for Liberty and other conservative events. He made fun of “forced birthers” – what he calls anti abortion activists – at a protest. After Nick Shirley went viral for his investigation of Somali daycares, Masterson did a mocking satirical video about the Catholic Church hiding children and paying no taxes.
These public auditions for the Daily Show do modest numbers on YouTube and he probably makes a decent living with the shtick. Not enough to really live well in NYC, but enough to be at least locally known.
I wonder how feels about the thing that is mostly likely to get him that fabled 15 minutes of fame nationally?
