At least 192 protesters have been killed in protests across Iran that were initially sparked by anger over the rising cost of living, but have now become a movement against the theocratic system in place in Iran since the 1979 revolution. The protests have already lasted two weeks and an internet blackout has lasted more than 60 hours. Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of the ousted shah, played a prominent role in calling for the protests.
According to an article in the Jerusalem Press last week, the Israeli Mossad posted a message to Iranian citizens in Farsi that read: “Go out together into the streets. The time has come. We are with you. Not only from a distance and verbally. We are with you in the field.” The statement was a rare open acknowledgment from the Mossad regarding ongoing operations in Iran…
