Iraq’s Kurdish Peshmerga has issued a statement on the ongoing fight against ISIS. They revealed that through 2021, 356 people have been killed by ISIS. That’s a substantial toll since ISIS doesn’t control any territory.
ISIS can be thought of as defeated in Iraq, but that doesn’t prevent them from being dangerous, and throughout the year the group has carried out attacks.
Attacks around Baghdad and Irbil were on the rise in the past few months, and Iraq’s army and the Peshmerga will form joint brigades to fight them in 2022.
