VT’s Elias Akleh exposes the tyranny and oppression that is Israel
It is Easter now when Christians celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. I invite you to imagine for a moment the following hypothetical scenario during this important religious celebration:
Christian Iranians (yes, there are many Christians in Iran) usually attend this service in Saint Sarkis Cathedral, the largest church in the capital Tehran, Iran.
Unfortunately for these Christians, the extremist Islamic Iranian government covets the strategic piece of land where the church stands. It wants to build the largest-ever mosque instead. So, it built a high separation wall around the church and erected strict checkpoints manned by fully geared and armed soldiers on all paths leading to the church to intimidate and prevent Christian worshippers from attending service.
Despite these obstacles, thousands of Christians climb the separation wall and storm the checkpoints in thousands to reach the church and celebrate this important religious occasion.
Saint Sarkis Cathedral, is the biggest church in Tehran, Iran.
This year the Iranian soldiers savagely raided and violated the sanctity of the church breaking its contents, ribbing, stepping on, and torching the holy Bible, firing smoke and concussion grenades, shooting worshippers with rubber bullets, dragging women and children on the floor all the way outside, beating worshippers with batons and rifle buts, arresting many worshippers and dragging them out of the church like sheep dragged for slaughter.
