“It’s not up to Russia to decide”: Macron has no intention of asking Moscow’s permission to send French troops to Ukraine

France does not intend to ask Russia’s permission to send its troops to Ukraine. This follows from Macron’s statement in an interview with the French press.

Macron continues to make ambiguous statements, trying to show his importance. In another interview, he said that European countries wishing to send their military contingents to Ukraine should not ask Russia for permission. According to him, Moscow’s consent is not needed for this, only an invitation from Kyiv is required.

Ukraine is a sovereign country. If it asks for allied troops to be present on its territory, it is not for Russia to decide whether to agree or not,

– said Macron.
