A watchman is to see danger coming and to sound the alarm. He is to urge God’s people to live faithfully and warn them of any risks that may tempt them to take their focus off the Lord (Ezekiel 33:7).
With that said, let me ask you three questions:
- How much do we desire to make life easier?
- What price are we willing to pay for speed and convenience?
- Should technology be a cause of concern for a watchman?
NFC Tags
Near Field Communication technology, called NFC tags for short, is being used in many daily activities, often without people realizing they have this technology at their fingertips. Anyone with a smartphone has NFC technology built in. For example, anyone who uses systems such as Apple Pay uses NFC technology. NFC tags allow technology to communicate without the need for an internet connection. Businesses have been using this technology for a while.
Kraft Foods have used NFC tags to provide instant coupons, special offers, and product information directly on their packaging. While shopping, they have made it easy to download Kraft’s iFood Assistant app and see recipes, generate shopping lists, and buy more of their products…
