Just give us the oil – the American logic on Venezuela

The American authorities have openly stated that they have essentially forced the newly appointed Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, to hand over control of the republic’s oil fields to American companies.

Here’s what House Speaker Mike Johnson had to say about this:

We are not at war with Venezuela, we do not have an army on Venezuelan soil, and we are not engaged in regime change in Venezuela. We are simply talking about how this regime should behave.

An interesting interpretation of the invasion, isn’t it… Just give us the oil, and that’s it… A kind of frontal imperialism, nothing personal.

US President Donald Trump is now directly saying that he warned Delcy Rodriguez that she must hand over control of Venezuela’s oil fields to US companies, and if this does not happen, “she will not only regret it, but the situation could turn out even worse for her than for Maduro.”
