K-Way athlete Murdered – South Africa

A 30-year-old K-Way athlete and owner of a pet grooming business, was murdered at his home in Noordhoek, Cape Town, over the weekend.

On Sunday November 3 at around 6am, Wesley Sweetnam(30), was shot and killed during an armed robbery at his home.

Wesley was the co-owner of Doggy-Style Grooming, Boarding & Doggy Daycare, and he often engaged in fundraising for animal charities.

Wesley was also a K-Way SA athlete, with trail running taking up much of his private time.

His death has rocked the coastal community and his Facebook profile has been flooded with memories and condolences.

You were so full of life and happiness! You always had a smile on your face and brought love and happiness to all you crossed paths with. You made me laugh so much I’m going to miss you! Just know we will all cherish our memories with you, something that will never be taken away! I’m so grateful you were a part of my life! My thoughts and Prayers are with all your family and friends Rest in Peace Wes xxx” – read one comment.

“This tragic news hit us all so deeply. Wesley, the way you lived and loved life inspired us all. Praying comfort over everyone. Our hearts grieve together and my deepest condolences to the family,” another comment read.

“This tragic news has so many of us heartbroken. I pray for peace for your family Wes, you were such an inspiration to so many people, and had such a kind and gentle soul. You were so full of life and always ready to help and push others to do their best. The world is lesser of a place without you in it.” read another.

Arrests Made for the K-Way Athlete murder

Police spokesperson Col Andrù Traut said circumstances surrounding Wesley Sweetnam’s death at about 5.50am on Sunday were being investigated.

No arrests have been made.

    Honour him. Honour him for his endurance, his menschlichkeit, his love of people and the animals. Honour for his love of life. And stand against those whose only answer to such a generous spirit is to extinguish such a light.
