Kemp Declares State Of Emergency, Activates National Guard After Riots

On Thursday, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) declared a temporary state of emergency and deployed 1,000 Georgia National Guard troops in response to recent violent ANTIFA and anti-police riots in Atlanta. Kemp’s state of emergency was issued to assist with restoring order in the city after ANTIFA members called for a “night of rage” to be held Friday in response to the death of another ANTIFA member, which was caused by Georgia State Patrol troopers shooting the suspect after he opened fire on them last week at the future site of a police training facility in a wooded area of metro Atlanta.
