Las Vegas Unveils The “MSG Sphere,” A Giant Holographic Ball That Can Display All Sorts Of Designs

Earlier last week the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, debuted the Madison Square Garden (MSG) Sphere, a giant ball that sets the record for the largest spherical structure in the world.

The sphere is 366 feet tall in height and arrayed with 1.2 million LEDs lights, also making it the largest video screen on the planet. It can display a plethora of motion pictures and designs.

Besides being able to display all kinds of wild designs on the outside which allows many pedestrians and drivers passing by to see, the Sphere is designed to provide a “4-D” experience by allowing guests to purchase a ticket and enjoy an interactive show; providing patrons with not just a magnificent video and light show, but with immersive audio, deep vibrations, wind and smells, and more.

The screen is the largest in the world, providing some of the most detailed visuals in the world, coming in at 16,000-by-16,000 resolution, MSG Entertainment said.

The Sphere was 5 years in the making, first announced in 2018, costing well above $2 billion to construct. It is set to fully open later this September.
