Longtime Anchor Out At MSNBC

Veteran journalist Andrea Mitchell, 78, is leaving her role as a full-time anchor at MSNBC, wrapping up nearly two decades at the helm of Andrea Mitchell Reports. Her final show is set for Friday, February 7.

Mitchell previously signaled her departure last fall, stating that her daily program would conclude after the presidential inauguration. While stepping away from her MSNBC anchor chair, she is not retiring from journalism.

She will continue to work at NBC News, where she is the network’s chief foreign affairs correspondent and chief Washington correspondent.

“After sixteen years of being in the anchor chair every day, I want time to do more of what I love the most: connecting, listening, and reporting in the field, especially as whoever is elected next week is going to undertake the monumental task of handling two foreign wars and the political divisions here at home,” Mitchell announced last year on October 29…
